Many of these poems were created during Campbell’s many hospital stays, including time in a psychiatric ward (more on that in the About the Author).
From the author: “Embattled We: A Poet’s War was created during my search for solid ground from which to fight the intense psychological, spiritual, and physical pain. I was struggling for my life while also battling depression and low self-esteem. Writing became my survival. This collection ultimately helped me realize my own personal worth and I hope it helps you do the same. Thank you for taking a chance on this work.”
